
The Shenandoah District Church of the Brethren called a team to serve in an interim district executive minister capacity beginning on April 1.
Paul Roth, Jan Orndorff, and Steve Spire will serve as the core interim team with
Wayne Pence and Glenn Bollinger assisting as consultants. Team responsibilities will be divided both geographically and by focus area. All three core team members will be assisting with pastoral placement and congregational support and resourcing. Paul Roth will care for administration of the district office and will be the contact person for the team and liaison to the denomination, including the Council of District Executives and ecumenical agencies. Paul is a retired pastor and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Brethren & Mennonite Heritage Center of Harrisonburg, Va. Jan Orndorff will oversee credentialing and related issues, pastor CEU opportunities and support, and district communication. Jan is part-time pastor of the Sunrise congregation in Harrisonburg. Steve Spire will liaise with the financial director, mission partners, and gifts discernment team. Steve is part-time pastor of the Sangerville congregation in Bridgewater, Va.
Lee Marsh has announced his retirement from Buildings and Grounds for the Church of the Brethren General Offices effective, May 30. He has served as the Buildings and Grounds Assistant at the offices since May 17, 2021. Lee has provided excellent and regular cleaning for the entire General Offices with good care and attention to details. His easy demeanor, willingness to share a story, and pleasant demeanor will be missed around the General Offices.
