IN OUR PRAYERS

A district prayer calendar has been created for your use in praying for our district and related programs through the year. We invite you to include the following in your prayers in coming weeks:

Week of Oct. 12: Pray for the Church of the Brethren Mission & Ministry Board, for general secretary David Steele, and for all the members of this district who work in denominational staff positions.

Week of Oct. 19: Pray for the Walnut Grove congregation, and for the work of the Brethren Historical Library and Archives in Elgin.

Week of Oct. 26: Pray for the Cherry Grove congregation near Lanark, and for the financial stewardship and investment work of Eder Financial and Eder president Nevin Dulabaum (Highland Avenue).

Week of Nov. 2: Pray for all the delegates and others gathering at “the castle” in Bloomington, Ill., for the Illinois/Wisconsin District conference Nov. 7-8 and for wise decision-making and good fellowship. Pray especially for moderator Bill Williams (Yellow Creek) and moderator-elect Jocelyn Watkins (Peoria First).

Week of Nov. 9: Pray for the Highland Avenue congregation, and for the Church of the Brethren Office of Peacebuilding and Policy as it provides a witness in Washington, D.C., and beyond.

Week of Nov. 16: Pray for the Naperville congregation, and for the Church of the Brethren congregations and members in India.
