Ethics Training Opportunities
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,
The Ministerial Leadership Development Team in cooperation with the Leadership Team and Brotherhood Office of Ministry will sponsor two Ethics Training Opportunities in May 2005.
All persons ordained, ordained emeritus, licensed, pastor of a congregation, seeking licensing or ordination, or serving on the Ethics Team are required by polity to participate in this training. We are pleased to be able to offer two dates and locations within the District and request that each one--in any of these categories--will choose a date and return the registration form to the District Office no later than April 30, 2005.
Or you may register by email: Dixon Meeting 3/12/05 to kwideawake@hotmail.com or Champaign Meeting 3/14/05 to rrichardson217@aol.com.
For those ordained that have already returned their renewal forms, the District office will note the date you choose on your review form. If you have not returned the form please note, on that form, under ““Ethics Training”” which of the sessions you will attend. You must attend one of these sessions as this is the training required for this current five year renewal/review cycle.
The "Northern" session will take place at the Dixon Church of the Brethren on Thursday, May 12, 2005, from 9am to 4pm. The "Southern" session will take place at the Champaign Church of the Brethren on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 9am to 4pm. Coffee and donuts will be available at 8:30 and a lunch will be provided by the Women's Fellowship of each congregation. Our trainer, Nancy Cruz, prefers that no one plan to "go out" for lunch so if you have nutrition restrictions we ask that you bring a sack lunch.
Each person attending is asked to bring a notebook, pen or pencils, and a copy of the 1996 Ethics in Ministry paper. (This can be downloaded from the COB web site or purchased from the Brethren Press.) All other materials will be provided. You can see from the schedule that it is important to be on time and stay till the end of the day.
We ask that each one that receives this letter, sees the newsletter or email from the district will please, talk with anyone you know that should attend. We do not want any who should attend to lack information regarding these sessions.
Thank you for your expeditious response.
In His Love and Service,
The Ministry Leadership Development Team
